Valeo is presenting its solution for wireless charging of electric vehicles, Valeo Ineez™ Air Charging, for the first time at CES 2024 in Las Vegas from January 8 to 12, 2024.
The electric vehicle market is rapidly expanding, and recharge solutions are becoming a key differentiation factor to meet customer expectations. Valeo Ineez™ Air Charging is an efficient and lightweight solution for inductive vehicle charging, eliminating the need for a charging cable. This wireless solution operates at an ultra-low frequency of around 3kHz, making it lighter (50% of other systems’ weight) and simpler. The hardware is simplified to make it affordable while maintaining a high efficiency of over 90% from grid to battery.
Valeo Ineez™ Air Charging is designed for worldwide compatibility with every wall box, every country’s grid (1 or 3-phase network), and all cars (400-800V batteries). It offers Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functionality for any targeted power solution (7-22kW) and can be used in all charging locations, whether public (street, parking, shopping mall) or private (home, work). It can be plugged directly into an existing wall box or linked directly to the grid, providing all necessary security and communications with the vehicle and user.
The system is also prepared for a future where autonomous cars come to recharge by themselves in an inductive charging area. Valeo Ineez™ Air Charging is already covered by more than 25 design patents from hardware to software, and mechatronics. It will be on exhibition at CES 2024, Las Vegas, at the Valeo demonstration area at Piero’s.
