Rincon Power, a manufacturer of high-voltage contactors, relays, and manual disconnect switches, has introduced its latest product, the RER1K contactor, adding to its portfolio of hermetically sealed, high-voltage contactors.
This epoxy-sealed contactor is designed to safely isolate high voltage systems up to 1500V and can carry 1000A continuously in ambient environments up to 85C. It is particularly suitable for heavy vehicle fast charge systems and large energy storage applications.
Rincon mentioned that the RER1K contactor boasts exceptional switching performance, with the capacity to interrupt more than 2.5MW of power, making it ideal for emergency shutdown under full load conditions. It features a gas-filled inner chamber with arc suppression blow-out magnets, specifically designed to interrupt current flowing in either direction, thus functioning as a true bi-directional contactor.
The RER1K is available with an optional SPDT auxiliary feedback, providing both a normally-open and normally-closed status indicator. This feature offers integrators and engineers maximum design flexibility without compromising safety. The hermetically sealed enclosure of the RER1K protects the internals against harsh environments, including dust, moisture, and corrosive agents. This ensures predictable superior performance over the product’s lifespan, with industry-leading low contact resistance and no maintenance required.
