Nyobolt Ltd, a manufacturer of high-power, ultrafast charging battery technologies, has announced the achievement of United Nations (UN)38.3 certification for its first two production-ready pouch cells. The company is set to begin pack production for customers in high-uptime industries this year, where rapid recharge can significantly enhance operational efficiency.
The UN38.3 certification is a requirement for air shipping of all lithium-based battery chemistries. It is granted after the successful completion of stringent environmental, electrical, and mechanical safety tests by independent test authorities.
Nyobolt’s high-power battery cells, available in 3Ah and 23Ah sizes, are designed for fast charge and high power. They can be fully charged from 0% to 100% state of charge in as little as five minutes, with minimal degradation. These cells demonstrate a superior cycle life compared to current lithium-ion cells.
The team at Nyobolt, which includes leading battery scientists and engineers, is developing a comprehensive fast-charge ecosystem for customers in the Industrial and Automotive sectors. The company plans to expand its product portfolio to include high-power battery modules, packs, and DC chargers.
