Lilium, SEA Milan Airports and Skyports to launch eVTOL network in Italy

Lilium N.V., SEA, and Skyports Infrastructure have signed an agreement to develop an eVTOL network in Lombardy, Italy.

The Lombardy region is home to nearly a fifth of Italy’s population and receives over 37 million visitors annually. Regional air mobility will integrate with existing mobility solutions, providing faster, low-emission travel between key locations.

The companies plan to launch a vertiport network with operators of the Lilium Jet by 2027. SEA will contribute as a majority shareholder, offering airport management capability and regional aviation expertise. Skyports will provide its experience in developing vertiport infrastructure, working closely with SEA on operations. Lilium brings aircraft expertise through its pioneering Lilium Jet, which reportedly offers industry-leading capacity, operational range at high speed, minimal noise, and zero operating emissions.

The agreement aims to develop regional air mobility routes across Lombardy. The first route will connect Milan Malpensa Airport – northern Italy’s largest international airport – with Milan city center.
