– Samsung SDI has announced it will begin mass producing solid-state batteries for electric vehicles and other applications starting in 2027.
The company, part of the Samsung Electronics group, has outlined its production roadmap, which includes the production of high-performance solid-state batteries with an energy density of 900 watt-hours per liter. This represents a 40% improvement from its current lithium-ion cells.
