EVE Energy, a manufacturer of electric vehicle batteries, is reportedly planning to invest billions of pounds in the construction of the UK’s largest gigafactory.
The company, known for producing cylindrical EV batteries, is said to be in advanced negotiations to build a 60 gigawatt-hour factory on the outskirts of Coventry.
According to sources close to the negotiations, EVE Energy will initially commit to investing at least £1.2 billion into a 20GWh gigafactory. Subsequent phases of the project are expected to expand the site to 60GWh, nearly doubling the size of Nissan’s electric battery factory in Sunderland.
