Dewesoft unveils new EV HV power analyzers, The SIRIUS® XHS-PWR Series

Dewesoft has announced the addition of two new devices to its SIRIUS® XHS-PWR product family.

The SIRIUS® XHS-PWR is a 2-channel Power Analyzer specifically designed for in-vehicle testing of electric and hybrid vehicles. The new products, SIRIUSi-XHS-PWR-1xHV-1xDC-CT-250A-UNI power analyzer and SIRIUSi-XHS-PWR-1xHV-1xDC-CT-1000A-CON power analyzer are designed to facilitate safe, high-power, in-vehicle measurements of current, voltage, and power, tailored for e-mobility applications.

The current measurement technology in these products employs a patented DC-CT zero-flux transducer, based on the Platiše Flux Sensor (PFS). This technology ensures high-precision measurements of both AC and DC currents with less than 0.1% error and offers a high bandwidth exceeding 500 kHz. The DC-CT current transducer also features low-temperature drift, outstanding linearity, and robust overload capability, making it suitable for measurements of battery DC and motor AC currents, including signals at higher frequencies.

The products also incorporate Dewesoft’s HybridADC® technology, which provides both high bandwidth and dynamic measurements in a single device. In high-bandwidth mode, current and voltage are sampled at rates up to 15 MS/s, with a bandwidth reaching 5 MHz.

The system complies with the EN 61010-1 safety standard, ensuring channel-to-channel and channel-to-ground isolation up to CATII 1000 V. Its IP65-rated chassis, which encloses the power lines, operates reliably between -20°C and 70°C and withstands high shock and vibration levels. The device also includes internal temperature monitoring.

Measured values are transferable via Ethernet, XCP, OPC UA, and CAN. Data synchronization with other sources, such as CAN BUS, GPS, IMU data, video, and more, is streamlined using the IEEE 1588v2 PTP timing protocol.

The SIRIUSi-XHS-PWR-1xHV-1xDC-CT-250A-UNI power analyzer measures voltages up to ±2000 V (accuracy of 0.03%) and currents up to ±500A (short term) at a maximum sampling rate of 15 MS/s. It features universal high-voltage harness connectivity, accommodating various multicore cables and connector types. This device is ideal for applications like total power consumption analysis of E-vehicles, including auxiliary and HVAC systems.

The SIRIUSi-XHS-PWR-1xHV-1xDC-CT-1000A-CON power analyzer is designed for measuring voltages up to ±2000 V (accuracy of 0.03%) and currents up to ±2000A, with a maximum sampling rate of 15 MS/s. It includes HV connectors (Amphenol PowerLok 500 Series) and supports HV harnesses with cross-sections up to 120 mm². This device is particularly useful for Powertrain efficiency, Real-drive testing, Transient analysis, EMC testing, and Total power consumption.
